Identifying Criteria for Selecting Solutions

In this article, we share a simple artifact from one of our client engagements that captures various stakeholder groups and what each one valued in a solution, what priorities were important to them.

We captured the CRM features that various business units of the client organization valued and scored them using a grid that looked similar to this:

We had limited each of the user groups to 10 points they could allocate across the features they wanted in a CRM system. We then calculated average scores across the groups and summarized. Such a grid then becomes the starting point to prioritize and dive deeper into the functional requirements, define and prepare a list of key initiatives and a corresponding roadmap.
